Re: Autoloading of maps

Postby fergal_om » Sat May 27, 2006 4:59 pm

Just got a new 1GB SD card to take all my maps. Copied everything from my old 64mb SD card and the added my new maps; all in the palm/launcher directory. These new maps were generated using the commandline batch utility for converting *.jpr's to pathaway maps.

I had no problems previously but now no map will auto load when the gps fixes its position. (Unlike before)

I have the settings "show maps" and "auto select maps" selected.

If I select a map manually and click show, they load without a problem so I have no idea whats wrong.

Any ideas?

Do you also have "Auto Zoom In when connected" ?

yes I have this checked on also, should it be on or off?

In the meantime I have some new ideas myself.

My old manually converted maps work and autoload on my new SD card so the problem is not with the SD card.

Therefore maybe the batch utility for converting maps is possibly not functioning correctly??? When you use it in the command line do you use

" pwmapconvert *.bmp,16,,,,,,,,,,,,,,2 "

OR

" pwmapconvert *.jpr,16,,,,,,,,,,,,,,2 "

The *.bmp files are the scanned maps and the *.jpr files contain the map calibration data.

Also what is the difference between pwmapconvert.exe and pwmapWMconvert.exe?

Thanks
F

Yes, the auto zoom in should be On.
- To use the jpr calibration data, you should use *.jpr.
If you have problems, you can send me a bmp jpr combo via email and I'll try it myself.
