Estimation of GPS accuracy

Postby Mephzara » Fri Jul 07, 2006 3:18 pm

It would be great if Pathaway could estimate the accuracy of the GPS coordinates in relation to the number of satellites in view and the signal strength. That could be displayed in the sat view or the dashboard for example.

My GPS device does transmit an accuracy information (NMEA-0183->GPGSA->HDOP, VDOP and PDOP). Can't that be used?

Yes i think too, it's a very important information. In forest the acurracy can be more than 15 meters

If i want know it, i have to quit tracking with Pathaway and use CetusGPS, after i reload pathaway.

I use the trial of PathAway for some days; and it's a great software.
I like especially the PocketMode and the function to calculate the heading via coords (because of the LSB-Bug in MTK-Chipset of my GPS).

But I miss the HDOP-value shown like in other GPS-applications.
Please implement this feature in your next release and you will have a new customer .

Much thanks in advance & greetings from Germany,
