When you are writing to a Track Log file, it is regarded as the "Active" track. This means that the Track file will be written to when you travel.
In order to "Follow" this track as your current route, you need to set the track to FOLLOW as your current "Route". You can do this is one of 2 ways.
Option 1.
Go into the Options->Tracks dialog, select a track, and choose an option to FOLLOW FORWARD, or REVERSE. An 'f' or 'r' will appear to the right of the track name to indicate it is set to "Follow". Press OK.

Option 2.
Go into the GPS->Start New Trip... dialog, select "Follow Route Forward" or "Follow Route Reverse" from the top Dropdown list, then from the drowpdown menu underneath, select the name of the Track to follow. Press OK.

Now your recorded Track is your current ROUTE. So to go to the start and end of the route you need to choose Goto->Start of Route and Goto->End of Route.

Note, you cannot "Follow" your "Active Track".
