Development for Palm Platform

Postby mjnelson » Tue May 06, 2008 1:45 am

Has Pathaway given up on developing for the Palm Platform? The latest newsletter email would suggest this is so. That disappoints me greatly - I have been an avid user for many years now. I would hate to feel I had to change platforms to continue to use the best navigation program for handheld devices!

We are continuing to support and make improvements to the Palm OS versions of PathAway.

But because of business reasons, the current limitations of the Palm OS, and the lack of developer support, major work on new versions on the Palm OS is being scaled back.

Should this landscape change, then our priorities with then change with it.

I'm beginning to understand what you mean - after doing some research, I've come to conclude that while Palm were the pioneers of the handheld, they've somewhat dropped the ball in recent times... So I've taken the drastic step of changing to Windows Mobile. I would consider moving back to Palm, but not until they take seriously the current market. So by all means, devlop away for Windows Mobile :)
