Controlling display brightness

Postby Karl33 » Sat Sep 29, 2012 4:38 am

- Pathaway should use the automatic brightness adjustment according to environmental light condition. Most smartphones (in my case the Motorola Defy) use this technique to efficiently save power. Pathawy express holds the brightness on maximum power all the time, what empties the battery quickly. This is also important, because an Android smartphone screen ilumination can not be easily waked-up by touching the screen. Using the power- or loudness hardkeys can be dangerous, when using the smartphone on a bike.

- Pathaway should have a battery status field on the dashboard (as at Pathaway for Windows Mobile).

- An easy tool to create own waypoints would be very helpfull, e.g. something like a "virtual cross-hairs-mouse".

Thanks for the great suggestions.

Note: The full-Brightness lock can be turned off in the Settings->General dialog, "Keep Backlight On". If I understand what you're suggesting, there should be 2 options.
1. Keep Screen On.
2. Set Full Brightness.

If Full Brightness is off, then the system would use the default brightness set for the device. (which may be the "evironmental setting")
