Hi, Dont't worry too much about A-GPS. This is a technology "only" to speed up the time to first fix; after the receiver gets a fix then you can start working normally. GPS reveivers need to know where the sattelites are before being able to calculate the position; a device using SirfStarIII without...

Fixed: Download from Google Maps not working
Hello Scott,
I am not able to download map tiles from Google (ver 5.00.29). Internet connection is ok (for instance download from OpenStreetMap is working). It looks like Google changed something in the connection again.
Can you provide a fix, please?
Daniel

Hello, Some time ago (aprox 1.5 years) I also had problems of loosing data with PathAway, at that time with version 4. There were mainly problems related with WM5. After upgrading to WM6 I got a much more stable platform. Anyway a backup is always a good practice, and I backup the PathAway databases...

With this receiver M-1000, I had some trouble to use it with Tomtom software, and even some times it seemed to have some pauses tramitting data to Pathaway. After some googling, I found out a piece of software to handle some of device features, and it was interesting to find that the device can prov...

Keep direction when stopped
Hello Scott, When I used the receiver Holux GPSlim 236, based on a Sirf StarIII chipset, it used to have an internal setting for static navigation. With such setting enabled, the receiver could detect when I was stopped and therefore direction was "frozen". This was a convenient feature when I stopp...

Holux M-1000 receiver
Hello folks, I had recently the opportunity to sell my Holux GPSlim 236 and buy the more recent version Holux M-1000. It connects perfectly to my HTC TyTN with WM6 and it is driven by the device operating system, all I had to do in PathAway was to select the protocol Windows Mobile GPS in GPS config...

Hello Scott, let me give one idea, may be for version 5. Open and select a menu item is not very pratical if you are driving a bicyclette or other vehicle with strong vibration. Yes, I can setup 4 hard buttons on my HTC TyTN but most times they are not enough. I noticed that a short screen tap event...

Hello, I have sucessfully converted some bitmaps around 12 MB, in .png format, without any problem. However Map Manager is somewhat slow doing large conversions. If the application looses the focus in Windows, then it does not resume the progress info updating, but the program is still working. Norm...

Portugal complete cartography
You can find in Mi4x4 a complete Portugal cartography originally calibrated for OziExplorer, more than 600 mlitary maps! It is possible to convert the .gif + .cal files into a calibrated PathAway map using OziMapConverter , but I found the result is not so precise as I am used to, at least for the m...

Writen messages/warnings for visual confirmation
Hello Scott, One idea is to use the temporary message window to display a text message for a warning or to confirm an action, in the same way you have it now to confirm a SMS sending after the comand "Send My Location". For instance, I have an hard button configured to toggle the Tracking status. It...
