SD card access

Hi Scott, hello forum! As other users already posted, there is no easy way to access the SD card with PathAway. Rooting is one possibility, but not yet available for my current working horse phone, the Blackview BV9500. And definitely not to be recommended for the average user. Since Android 4.4 (Ki...

Hi Scott! quite a while ago, I finally added an android device to my collection of handheld devices. One reason (in fact one of the main reasons) was being able to use PathAway on a more recent device (compared to the old Palm PDAs). But I have the same problem as Patrick. If I put an .prc file (Pat...

Hello Scott, the new generation of webOS devices is in the pipeline, shipping of the Pre3 will start in one week. Veer and TouchPad will follow shortly. HP has a strong marketing power, and I'm sure, the new devices will have an impact on the market. I know that your resources are limited. But after...

PathAway for iOS

Hi Scott! Congratulations on your new PathAway for iOS! After getting your email today, I posted the news in the geman Nexave forum. This is a former PalmOS community forum, and many members switched to the iOS platform. But others are using webOS devices and are still waiting for PathAway for webOS...

PathAway webOS version

Hi Scott, now that the new Palm webOS PDK is out, it is even easier to include C/C++ code into webOS apps. As the design of webOS is very similar to other contemporary mobile operation systems, with a linux [android, webOS] or unix [iPhoneOS] kernel at the bottom of a touchscreen GUI layer, it shoul...

Congratulation!

Hi Scott! Congratulation for your new Symbian PathAway application. Enlarging the number of supported OS' will enlarge the number of users. But there is a keen competition, and many users will prefer navigation apps. In my opinion you should cross develop for even more operating systems, like webOS,...

While we have not tried PathAway on the Palm Pre, it should work in Classic mode EXCEPT, Classic applications do not have access to the device peripherals such as Bluetooth, internal GPS, or Serial Port. So you would not be able to do any GPS navigation. If you need it only for browsing maps then I...

You don't need an option. Date and time are recorded automatically for each of the track points. Albeit you cannot read this information from within PathAway. I would recommend export of the track as a gpx file. As gpx is a simple text format (ASCII characters only), it is easily readable by human b...

When the occassional resets at leaving PW are solved I'm more than happy. You will have this experience with any program that makes heavy use of dbcache ressources. Fragmentation of the dbcache leads to decreasing chunk sizes, which sooner or later will make it impossible to allocate a decent size ...

My favourite tool is flushit! . But you can use OffFlush or FlushDA as well. Doing a soft reset helps also. By preventing programs to start themselves after softreset, you can also save DBCache; this can be done by using e. g. CleanStart . To estimate the use of CleaStart, you should start flushit! ...
