Updating to last Android version

I've sent you a report about a problem to wich you answered by suggesting an update to last version (mine is 5.82.00.06). However I found no option to update within app itself so I looked into Application Manager but there is no update button either, only uninstall and force stop. I must confess I'm...

Tracks and points displayed out of place

Something weird happened today (all maps involved were downloaded from Google, calibrated by myself way back when my Palm T|X was alive, and toroughly verified by countless passages using the Palm T|X, a Nokia 6120 smartphone and my new friend Samsung P1000 tablet on the southward trip). I started t...

Data> Tracks dialog missing

In this case I may have some glitch. As I told before, my tablet reinitializes PathAway every time I touch Data> Tracks. Unfortunately there is no Error Report or any other clue to what can be wrong. Once reinitialized it shows the splash screen and starts with the last map centered. Should I have s...

Re: Show GPS status

Especially when there is no fix it would be good to see the GPS status. How many satellites, signal strength and so on. I'm coming from the Palm version and I just liked this program. So everything which was implemented ther should also be in the Android version. :) I miss so much my old faithful P...

Compass driven Pointer

Some devices have an embedded compass that could be used to show displacement direction, instead of computing it from last points coordinates. There could be a user-selected option under Settings>Map Display to allow either compass-driven or track-computed icon orientation. This would eliminate icon...

New place for zoom buttons

Zoom in and out buttons could be placed to the rightmost side of control bar to facilitate touching them on a bumpy road or choppy waters. Making each button a bit wider and farther appart would contribute to even easier usage. Presently I often end up placing a new Point or zooming out when I reall...

Saving tracks and renaming them for future use

I found no way to save just completed tracks for later retrieval. Under "Recording Tracks", Help tells one should GPS>Reset to save present track, but the only result I noticed was a cleared map. Where do I find the saved track? How can I rename it? Should it appear as a Route? My Route database is ...

Hi Scott. I deleted the previously imported tracks that appear under Options> Data> Tracks... Next I created an Import folder under E:\Data (my Memory Card) and copied there the 23 tracks converted by Data Transfer Utility. Then I started PathAway but nothing happened, as opposed to yesterday when I...

Multiple data import

Also note, the PathAway Data Transfer Utility can convert Palm .PDB data to GPX. You can then copy the converted GPX to a memory card and have PathAway import them. Note, it you place all of the files you want imported into the C:\Data\PathAway\Import folder on your device, then PathAway will autom...

Re: how to send my PalmOS maps to Nokia phone?

Hi, Connect phone in data transfer mode. Just copy prc files to MEMORY CARD/Pathaway folder. Best regards, Aleksandar Thank you very much! It worked fine. :D Is there a similar way to send my saved Points and Tracks too? I didn't find them in any SD card folder where my maps are, I'm afraid they re...

how to send my PalmOS maps to Nokia phone?

My old faithful Palm TX quit last week leaving me without PathAway  I am missing it so much that I dowloaded Symbian version to try in my tiny Nokia 6120 screen while I try to fix my TX. The software seems to have installed ok in smartphone but I can't find any option to send my map collection ...

map/no map turn around suggestion

Hi folks, Since my brother and I once developed a VERY simplified software to track GPS position on a set of maps (VB on a Windows laptop) we faced this problem and do know how to deal with that: it's just a matter of switching to next map when the former one is about to show the "white band" instea...

Hi Joe42 You are right, SA is not the culprit anymore, it is indeed atmospheric influence the responsible for the majority of the observed errors today. I found it at Wikipedia's article on GPS errors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Positioning_System#Accuracy_and_error_sources Unfortunately, u...

jitter

I think this behaviour is due to what is called "Selective Availability". As this technology was originally developed by the military, they were concerned about its use by the enemy, so they include this jitter, as you named it, as a safeguard against unintended use. Today you find it to be about a ...
