maps fail to initialise

I have Pathaway 4.00.40 running on a Palm TX with a load of maps on SD card. This works fine. Im moving to a Palm Treo 650. I have Pathaway 4.00.40 with pjmerc and mathlib (in rom) installed. Selecting the same maps many, but not all, of them report 'Projection iniaialize failed for map : /palm/path...

Device crash/soft reset when calibrating maps on-device

Hi, Pathaway4 is getting good ! It can still crash the device though, here's the latest crash I stumbled upon : I have spent some time trying to reproduce this 100%, Ive come close but its time consuming so I hope this is enough. For me this crashes the device about 90% of the time, there's obviousl...

I beleive we have this fixed. I've attached a version of PathAway4.prc to try out. Let me know if this works for you. Scott, I believe you are correct ! I can cycle through the screens to my hearts content now, and also exit quite happily. This has gone from 100% reproducable to 0% reproducable. On...

Resolved: Pathaway 4.00.38 (and .30) crashes Palm

This is related to the previous thread, but I thought Id start a new one given Im talking the latest step version .38. Im running a Palm TX with OS 5.4.9. The Palm can be easily made to crash when in pathaway as follows : Go into Pathway 4.00.38 (or .30 or .33). Select a map to view. Use the menu or...

Out of Proximity Alarm

For the mariners amongst us who anchor overnight and then worry about the anchor dragging, an increadibly useful feature would be an out of proximity alarm. At its simplest this would play an alarm if the current position varies by more than x metres from a selected location, initially the same loca...

Pathaway 4 funnies ....

Hi, just running the latest and greatest pathaway 4 and found a couple of funnies I thought the developers might like to look at. Im running OS 5.0 on a Sony Clie TG50 with Pathaway4 4.00.30 Sound selection : In options->preferences->alarms->edit for any of the alarms listed, when selecting "..." to...

Scott, OK now Ive thought some more about the info you gave me, and taken a closer look. If I now set the GPS to WGS84 then what Pathaway displays is effectively the same as the GPS reports when set to ADG66. I say effectively because they're slightly different but by such a small amount its probabl...

Scott, many thanks for the reply. Im absolutely positive of at least the following : The Garmin GPS is set to use AGD66 datum. The map being diaplayed by Pathaway has been calibrated by specifying lat/long(rectangular), Australian Geod66, UTM, then two known points near the top left and bottom right...

Current location readings different ?

OK, Im new to GPS and Pathaway. But my (Garmin etrex) GPS is displaying one location as my current location (when static). Pathaway displays a slightly different location as per the configurable display on the map (I chose "location" which I assume to be my current location). Should not the location...

Of course - now its easier I know that the CTS:off etc messages are normal, but the framing error isnt. So I was concentrating on the CTS/DTR signals suspecting they were wrong .... but that isnt an error being reported it seems. The framing error was - and you were right it was a bad cable. many th...

Is there any other support or advice I can get on Pathaway that anyone knows about ? Basically I think the only guys that would know what these error message are would be the Pathaway authors. Anyone know how to get in touch with them ? Pathaway is telling me I have a "framing error" with CTS:off, D...

Meaning of GPS connectivity error messages ?

Im trying to connect a sony clie TG50 to a Garmin eTrex. The Configure GPS screen says "searching", then displays CTS : off, RTS :off, DSR : off Is this really telling me that I have no signal on CTS, RTS and DTR ? Do I need a signal on all three ? Or does this error message mean something different...
