Maps are not loading

Postby Scotian » Fri Feb 22, 2008 8:27 am

My Zire 72 died last week and I am now moving into a used Tungsten T (Until I can move up to a TX)

All of my maps and points were saved on an SD card so I didn't lose any data, but when I open Pathaway, I get the following error:

"Failed Calibrating Map/Palm/Launcher/kingston_ON_1-1.prc"

Kingston just happens to be the last map on a list of about 15 .prc map files

When I go into "folders" I can see all of the Card folders, and when I go into "Maps" the entire list of maps appears.

Any one have any suggestions?

I am running version 4.00.80 on Palm OS 5.0

Thanks,

J

Try a couple things.
- Move the map to internal memory and try loading it again.
- Check the calibration settings of the map. Perhaps they were lost somehow.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the quick reply.

I do not have enough capacity to move the maps back to the handheld, they average about 10MB each, and I only have about 6MB free.

I looked at the calibration settings and they appear to be fine. That being said, even if they weren't, I should still be able to say "Show" and it would take me to the map wherever in the world it may actually be, yes?

I'll try moving the maps back to my PC and reloading them to the card using Quick-Install.

I looked on the Palm website, and apparently there have been problems reported with the Tungsten T and SD cards over 1GB.

That's probably the issue. Time to bite the bullet and get a TX
