Pathaway on samsung blackjack II

Postby hourglass » Sun Jul 27, 2008 3:25 pm

Hello,

I have tried to use Pathaway (trial version) on the samsung blackjackII (i617).

I have some difficulties to make it work with the internal GPS:
- with the windows mobile GPS connection: not connected
- on COM4 / NMEA (with the microsoft GPSID driver): it seemed like it worked once (3D etc) but I don't seem to be able to repeat it.

Questions:
- did anybody succeed with that phone?
- which method/driver do you use?

Thanks

Here are the instructions for the setup. These work on our Motorola 'Q' (which is essentially the same device as the Blackjack)

Unlock and setup GPS

http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtop ... ded&start=
Run the Settings… program.
Set as follows:
Program Port to Com3,
Baud to 4800,
turn ON “Manage Automatically”

PathAway settings:
IN GPS->Configure GPS…
Protocol: Windows Mobile GPS

If Windows Mobile GPS protocol does not work then set to:
Protocol: NMEA
Baud: 4800
In Advanced: “Timer Comm” should be ON

You can test with this utility (GPSTest):

Thanks so much for the fast response.
It seems to work (at least with the com4 option). I just got a fix in front of my house (6 sats).

Thanks!
I will now look at how to create maps etc.
