Map export from QV6

Postby c-moll » Sun Apr 07, 2013 11:51 am

Hi,
when I export a topo map in QV6 to PA, I get an error message like

C:\Users\Public\Documents\TTQV5_Data\Export\LH_Tab_01.prc -> Error: PWCalMapConvert returns -12

Error while exporting: WasError
C:\Users\Public\Documents\TTQV5_Data\Export\LH_Tab_01.prc -> Error: PWCalMapConvert returns -12
Done, time=196,75s

I have chosen the multi tile export, the size ist less than 15000 x 15000 and I get the message at the end of the first tile.

Any suggestions?

Chris

I'm using the PWMapLib.dll that Tom posted in your second link, Walter. Is there no newer version than this one of december '12?

The problem is that the system could not allocate enough memory. This is probably due to memory fragmentation.
QV needs to modify its export procedure in order to work around this.
I will inquire with them again on this.

Scott, you have finally to do something!

From the forum QuoVadis:
We consider seriously the support of PW QV7 officially set, because the known problems of PW are not resolved.

Hi Scott,
QV exports the desired map area into a bitmap file which - as I have verified - is valid.
After that the PW dll is called to convert this bitmap into a prc map file.

I cannot see how QV can be responsible for your memory problems.
This problem occurs even if I have a lot of free memory in RAM.
Why should be this free memory be fragmented when performing the QV export immediately after re-booting?

Greetings
Werner

I've sent another build to Thomas for testing. This should improve the converting further.

Scott,
It is a great nuisance that the export for so long does not work properly. It would be nice if it would finally work.
I hope so, because PW5 is very good and I would like to continue using it.
Thanks and Regards
Walter
