As other users already posted, there is no easy way to access the SD card with PathAway. Rooting is one possibility, but not yet available for my current working horse phone, the Blackview BV9500. And definitely not to be recommended for the average user.
Since Android 4.4 (KitKat), Google has added the storage access framework (SAF) to reach a so called Document Provider. This is the recommended tool for accessing SD card files. By implementing the SAF, you can quite easily access remote files as well, e. g. cloud files stored in Google Drive or Dropbox.
So my suggestion for the future development of PathAway: Please add the Android Storage Access Framework into the PathAway code. As an UI example, I attach a Titanium Backup screen shot (sorry for the German language...). And here is a more thorough description with dedicated coding examples: Android Document Provider
Thank you very much in advance!
