Windows Mobile RCLocalize Project:

Notes

• RcLocalize 5.0 or higher required
• Open the project and edit the strings associated the the language being translated.
• For message alerts, they are divided into 3 sections Icon|Title|Message|Buttons. Do NOT edit the Icons, or Buttons. Leave them in English. The OS will insert the proper text. Ie. If the Button is:
  • CONFIRMATION|PathAway|Are you Sure?|Yes|No then do NOT translate CONFIRMATION or Yes|No
    
• Be wary of String Lists. These are Text items ending with the name "StringList". These are a bunch of strings separated by '|' bars. They must exactly match the number in the English list. Compare each StringList with the English to ensure they match up.
• Most new resources are prefixed by the "PW4", PW41 PW42 etc.
• If you want an item to remain in English, or the item contains only numbers then leave it BLANK. Our Compiler will replace blank items with the default English ones.

Changes from PathAway 4 to PathAway 5

• Most text has been carried over from Pathaway 4. Most items (not all) have a PW50 prefix. To find the text to translate:
  • Go to "Language->Select Active Editing Language". Choose your language.
  • Select "Next Item to Translate". (F6)
  • Translate it, then go to the "Next Item to Translate"

Acquiring Screenshots on Windows Mobile Device

Here's the suggested method for acquiring the screenshots from a Pocket PC device.

Note, for Windows 2005, there is a stand-alone Emulator running on a PC, that will run independent of the Development environment. Contact Scott for information on this if you want to capture screens on the Emulator instead.

Download the free Pocket Screen Capture utility from CEToolbox.com . Just Capture all the screens on the PPC, then run bmp2png.exe (if you need to)

Example:
- Capture About screen. It gets name display_1.bmp
- Run ActiveSync,
- Choose Explorer.
- Go to the \Temp folder and Transfer the bmp to PC
- bmp2png -O dlgabout.png display_1.bmp
- The file dlgabout.png is now created. Copt this to your PathAwayWMScreens folder.
