MuskokaTech Releases version 4 of PathAway GPS Navigation and Mapping Software for Windows Mobile™ and Palm OS handhelds.

New features address the enhanced capablities and power of the latest handhelds.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Sept 2006 MuskokaTech; a leading provider of GPS Navigation and Mapping Software software for handheld PCs, today announced the release of PathAway GPS 4 Standard Edition on the Windows Mobile™ for Pocket PC, and Palm OS platforms.

The new version, is available on Windows Mobile™ (Pocket PC) 2002, 2003, Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC, and Palm OS handhelds. Some of the key features added for PathAway GPS 4 SE are:

- Multimedia Points. Add Photos and Sound to captured points. Included support for some PDAs with Built-in Camera capture. Click on points and play their sound or display the picture.
- Track Up Navigation: Automatic or manual Map rotation in 90 degree increments.
- New View Screens. GPS Sky View, Satellite Data View, and Compass View.
- PocketMode Feature : Power saving feature that locks the keys and turns off the screen, so track logs can be recorded with the handheld tucked safely away. Intended for configurations with Bluetooth GPS devices.
- Calibrate by 3 or More Known Points: Calibrate maps skewed maps, that do not have a known projection. PathAway 4 features new algorithms to accurately calibrate maps by choosing 3 or more known points.
- Primary and Secondary Position Coordinate Display: Choose two different Position coordinates to display on the dashboard.
- New National Grids: Quebec-MTM, MGA, GGRS87, Swedish Grid, Irish grid, Israel Grid.
- Measure distance between points: Simply mark 2 points on the map to determine distance.
- Calculate Area of a Route or Track: Track or route must be set as Activated, or Follow.
- Import GPS data from Data Logger NMEA file: Download data logged from Data Logger GPS, (I.e.. RoyalTek BlueGPS.) and import the NMEA file directly into PathAway.
- Support for SDIO GPS: Direct support for SDIO GPS devices added. Ie. Stellus StarNet SDIO GPS.
- New Data Import Formats: GPX, LOC Supported. The most popular format for GeoCache users.
- Elevation alarms and warnings: Receive audible alerts when location rises above or fall below specified elevations in relation to the track or route you're following.
- GPS fix acquired and lost alarms: Receive audible alerts when a GPS fix is acquired or lost.
- Custom Alarm Sounds: Add custom sound clips for any of the available alarms. Also, sounds can be attached to a specific waypoint to be played as the "in-proximity" sound.
- Hard Key Mapping: customize or disable the hard key buttons
- Pinpoint feature: Create a waypoint then improve the accuracy of the location by averaging multiple samples.
