Latest News on PathAway version 3.0

PathAway GPS Navigation and Mapping software version 3.0  has now been in the field undergoing rigorous testing for over two months now. While this upgrade has been a very aggressive leap for us in terms of features and performance, the payoff in usability and power, has made it all worthwhile! The product is now stable and ready to handle the most challenging of mapping and GPS navigational needs. If you haven't tried the latest build, then please DOWNLOAD AND TRY IT NOW.


PathAway PC Tools 3.0 Pre-Release Available
( Included FREE as part of PathAway 3)

PathAway PC Tools have been updated to support the new features added to PathAway 3. A pre-release version of the new tools is now on the PathAway 3 Download Page.

It's now easier to convert and calibrate your maps with the new and improved Map Manager.

Icon Manager adds Transparency support for your icons to give you a clearer view of your icons on your maps.

PathAway Tools version 3.0 New Features:

  • PathAway Map Manager:
    • Shows resulting map in full window.
    • New Calibration panel format.
    • Map Projection Calibration support.
    • Map Datum and Ellipsoid support.
    • Calibrate by selecting known points on map by clicking points on the map, and entering the Longitude Latitude coordinates.
    • Faster loading time of existing PathAway maps.
    • Help File added for detailed assistance.
  • PathAway Icon Manager
    • Transparency support added. Select the transparent color for your icon.
    • Number of Icons per database limit increased to 256 icons.

Touratech-QV Releases Integrated PathAway 3 in German and English

Touratech-QV Desktop Mapping Software first integrated PathAway map and data conversion over a year ago. This latest version of PathAway is even better with support for Projected maps and datum. Touratech maps can be output directly to PathAway with more precise plotting, and without map distortion. The special Touratech version of PathAway is available now in English and German. Note: If you already own PathAway 3, then the Touratech software will work with your current version.


PathAway Partner Spotlight

GPS Visualizer is an on-line tool designed to create SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) images from tracklogs. Now supports creating SVG images from PathAway Track and Point databases. Simply upload your PathAway Track databases to GPS Visualizer and view the resulting map laid out in Vector format over selectable background maps. Generate color coded speed or elevation profiles from your recorded tracks! Thanks to Adam Schneider for implementing the PathAway Conversion!


PathAway 3.0 Overview

With PathAway 3.0, you can now zoom in and out by scaling maps on the fly. You can even calibrate maps in their original projection and datum formats for pin-point accuracy. UTM and OSGB positioning readouts are also now available. Full Hi-Resolution and Expandable screen support for Palm OS 5 is also implemented. Having trouble reading your route lines at a glance? Now adjust the thickness and color of all tracks and routes for easy readability. Even choose different size, color, and style of current position marker. For routing, PathAway is even quicker to setup a target point to immediately route to with Single Point Routing.

PathAway Usage Today

PathAway is being used for tracking race routes prior to the rally races, hikers download trail maps from the Internet to follow trails, others are following tracked routes while boating to find their way home in poor weather conditions. Scuba divers, fishermen, hunters, etc use the product to mark and recall their secret spots. The product is also used by Paragliders, mountain climbers, ultralight and private pilots, canoeists, snowmobilers, motorcyclists, and more.
